As the cocking of the bolt (and taking the pressure off the hammer spring) helped- seems that there is a valve issue- and might be something as silly as a small piece of dust caught in the valvestem...
I'd say I care- but I'd probably be lying...

I just went and grabbed the gun. When i have the gun a little, there is something "rattling" around it sounds like in the air resevoir??!! I can't imagine that is normal.

You would need to disassemble the rifle to get the valve out.

The 'rattle' if the gun is not filled is the pin in the fill adapter- this is normal. If the reservoir is full of air- then any rattle is not normal.

Every songle picture i have seen of a Disco so far shows the regular in the stock 90 degrees to the stock, meaning if you were to turn the gun over with the stock resting on your thigh, the numbers would show up like a clock face. If i do that with mine, they are turned another 90 degrees. So do you think that the regulator may NOT be screwed in far enough??
I hope i didn't confuse you with the description.

There is no "proper" position for the gauge to sit- I've seen them in all orientations.

That being said- if cocking the bolt slowed down the leak- then anything else that might be leaking beyond the valve is secondary and you are chasing ghosts at this point.
I'd say I care- but I'd probably be lying...

Wont be long now Bill and you'll be tossing lead downrange.

....then comes the grumbling and mumbling as you search for the magic pellet
